Rolls-Royce
Corniche IV
(1993-1996)

Rolls-Royce
Corniche IV, 1992, #SCAZD202D2NCX40013. The Corniche IV (model year 1993
deliveries commencing from August 1992) was enhanced by modern features
like CFC-free air conditioning system and airbags for driver and front
passenger.
Given the fact that the first of the convertibles made its appearance
in 1967 as a derivation from the Rolls-Royce Silver
Shadow the shape found by the design team then had extremely well
stood the test of time. The R-R Corniche IV was introduced in 1993. A new
hood made an end once and for all to soft rearlights being scratched
because now a solution had been found to fit a genuine glass rear light.
The fixing mechanism was a more advanced one too locking the hood
automatically to the windscreen frame which operation previously had asked
for manual action. - It is well worth noting here that the designers in
their research for the best solution even had inspected the mechanism on
landaulette built by Hooper in 1954. A final series of 25 specially
equipped Rolls-Royce Corniche S was the last string to the bow.
