Rolls-Royce
10 H.P., 1905, #20165 with K.-J. Roßfeldt at the wheel
When it had been decided in 1904 by Frederick Henry Royce and Charles
Stewart Rolls, to build motor cars under the name Rolls-Royce, with no
delay work began on the production of a complete range of models. The
first generation of Rolls-Royce motor cars consisted of the two cylinder
R-R 10 H.P., the three cylinder R-R 15 H.P., the four cylinder R-R 20 H.P.
and the six cylinder R-R 30 H.P. all of which were powered by in-line
engines and sported the radiator of classic Grecian shape. In addition the
Rolls-Royce 'Legalimit' was made, powered by V8 engine. Common to all cars
was that meticulous attention was paid to even the most minor detail, both
in design and workmanship and in fact quality set a standard of its own.
