Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost
(Made in USA, 1921 - 1926)

Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, Brewster Playboy Roadster
Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, 1925, #S168MK; Brewster Playboy Roadster. In 1931 the original Pall Mall Tourer body by Rolls-Royce Custom Coachwork was replaced by this Playboy Roadster made by Brewster (incidentally the original body was repaired and transferred to chassis #S77PM)

In April 1921 the first US-built Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost rolled off the production line in Springfield/Massachusetts. There a factory had been equipped following Rolls-Royce's 1920 announcement that the 40/50 hp chassis would be produced in the U.S.A. emphasizing that the same quality materials were to be used and of course adequate standards of excellence with which the name Rolls-Royce had become associated. Early examples were completely identical to their British counterparts, on later series vital modifications like left hand drive and a centre change three speed gearbox catered for American fashion and driving attitudes.
